Palasa — the sweet shop's supplier

Palasa (Andhra Pradesh's coastal Srikakulam district) became a cashew processing hub in the mid-20th century, leveraging both local RCN production and imported nut from Odisha and Karnataka. Today the Palasa cluster supplies a substantial portion of India's domestic sweet-manufacturing demand — particularly the kaju-katli and kaju-barfi makers concentrated in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.

Why source from Andhra Pradesh

  • Domestic-market specialty — if you're supplying Indian sweet manufacturers or gift box makers, Palasa is the centre of gravity
  • SW grade leadership — the highest concentration of SW processing in India
  • Competitive pricing — lower export pressure means lower domestic-market FOB prices
  • Visakhapatnam Port — for export-oriented buyers, direct port access
